Ashton VSG

This week was the Ashton VSG. I was pleased with it’s construction, and pre-light draw was perfect. Physically this cigar was tops.
Data from their website: The VSG was blended by Carlos Fuente Jr. using 4-5 year old Dominican tobacco. The distinct flavor of VSG comes from its wrapper grown on a private estate in Ecuador owned by the Oliva family where this proprietary wrapper leaf is grown for the Fuente Family exclusively for Ashton VSG. The leaf is taken from the higher primings and matures slowly by sunlight filtered through the region¹s natural cloud covering.
The first thing I noticed after lighting is, this cigar is very rich and it’s a full flavored smoke. I can’t give you the exact flavor profile, but I can say the taste was deep. Very smooth and rich. Similar to eating a rich dessert. Perhaps some co-co and woody notes appeared at times. The flavor profile did have a couple turns that were for the better in my opinion. I wish I could offer more useful info, but my pallet just isn’t up to the task yet.
The bottom line is: I liked this cigar. I’ll probably smoke more when I’m in the mood for a upper-medium to full flavored cigar.
