Arturo Fuente – Hemmingway Short Story
Tonight’s smoke was the Fuente Short Story. I’ve heard good things about it, so figured it was time to try it out.
Shape = Perfecto
Size=4X48
Wrapper = Cameroon
Filler = Dominican Republic
Binder = Dominican Republic
First 3rd – Things started with a nice toasty flavor. Passing smoke through the sinuses left a slight peppery flavor. This little cigar gave plenty of smoke, with a nice firm white/grey ash. The draw had a little resistance, and a perfect burn. I would place this cigar in the medium body range for now.
Second 3rd – This third started with the ash plopping off. The draw was still good and the burn was perfect. The body increased slightly, but still remained well within the medium range. A slight spice remained, and a woody flavor crept in. Toward the end of this third, I got a strong tar flavor on my lips. This I did not enjoy.
Final 3rd – The tar flavor didn’t return after it’s one time appearance. I still got slight spice through the sinuses, but I think the woody flavor took over everything else.
Conclusion:
I enjoyed this cigar. I didn’t have to do any burn touch up’s, and physically this smoke is perfect. The flavors were simple but good. If you like a consistent, quick 30-45 minute cigar, you may want to consider the Short Story. I will probably keep one or two on hand for this reason. As for the tar, I think it was a fluke.

great cigar for a quick smoke. i have a box of these in my humidor and have always enjoyed them.
