TomsCigars.com has moved-update 1
TomsCigars.com has moved to a new host. All of the content is now on the site. The RSS and email subscription seems to be working now, except on the comments feed. I’m looking into fixing that soon. As for the technical details of what went wrong during this migration…
For most of yesterday, I probably missed a lot of emails (unless you sent it later in the evening). Since tomscigars.com is reserved at Godaddy, and the site is hosted at Dreamhost, I had to change the nameservers accordingly. Apparently this overrode the MX records, rendering all of my email addresses useless. Godaddy wouldn’t allow custom NS and MX records at the same time. You could change them individually, but not both. Easy fix, instead of opening a service ticket at Godaddy, I just moved email hosting to Dreamhost.
Migrating my old RSS feed from Blogger to here didn’t go very well. The subscribers simply didn’t migrate as they should have. I started a new feed, and it seems to be working well. Unfortunately, if you were a subscriber, you may have to join up again. Sorry about that.
If you see a bug, please let me know here, or via the contact form.
