The smoothness and quality of this maduro version cigar was surprising. I bought a box from CI through a friend in the USA and all my friends here in the Philippines want me to order more and share the costs. This cigar is worth more than what I paid for and will continue to order more regardless of the exchhange rate. The best among the Gurkha cigars I've smoked so far.

I quite agree. One of my favourite cigars. Eager to try maduro version of Park Avenue.

Thanks for the great reviews. Having taken a bit of a shine to the Gurka line, I've reviewed 21 of their cigars. Many are hard to beat and some have made me question most anything over $10.00. While they have some impressive premium cigars, it's actually two of their value sticks I find to be my favorites. If you get the chance, try the Empire III and Micro Batch Liga S-2 on for size.

Yup the ol "If it smells like shit, it probably is a good cigar" has held true most of the time.
I just ordered a bundle of these sticks. I will compare them to this first impression review and post a quick follow up soon.

Tom,

Great review!

I got one of these sometime back when I ordered a 5 cigar herf-a-dor promo from CI. At first I was afraid to smoke it because the wrapper smelled like horse shit! Luckily I watch enough Ed & Tom videos that I finally got the courage to smoke it as Ed proclaims every time he smells the Barn Poo he finds that the Cigar is an AWESOME SMOKE! Needless to say I bought 2 boxes of these baby's and have them in my morning rotation!

These are definitely Macanudo Killers! I smoke Park Avenue Torpedoes in my morning rotation alongside the Oliva Connecticut Robusto, Perdomo Champagne & Camacho Connecticut Figurado. That is some tough company to hang with but this cigar is right in there with the big boys!
