Acid “Blue” Kuba Kuba

TC6-Hi-Res

In January of 2009, I reviewed this cigar. Back then, I had a pretty bad experience, and the review reflected that. I received a few emails urging me to try an Acid again. So now, in February of 2010, I decided it was time to re-visit the cigar that I gave a bad review to. I figured it was possible that I didn’t give it a fair chance.

The first half was decent, with strange floral, perfumey flavors. Like my other review, the second half basically fell flat. It just became a bland and borderline harsh smoke.

Like other quick smoke with Tom reviews, this was filmed with my MacBook isight webcam at The Habana Cigar Shop. I used an external mic this time, so the audio is a bit better then the others. The video quality is what it is. See what my thoughts were in this quick 9 minute video review.

You pretty much confirmed my assumptions about Acid cigars Tom, granted it’s only one cigar. Maybe I’ll still try one at some point, but there’s plenty of other sticks to try.

Yuck. I love the Liga Privada line, but you couldnt pay me to smoke this stick.

Adam – I figured with the popularity of the Kuba Kuba, it was worth a second chance. I tried to like it, but man…

Danny – Hey I’ll try almost any cigar at least once or twice. After that, no more!

Tried it once, can’t understand how people can smoke em – YUK!

If I want to smoke flowers I can just rip some out of my flower bed and go to town.

Lets see – the infused stuff hides other smells just in case you would happen to stuff something else into the cigar ;) I still think that is the main reason these things sell.

Tom, thank you for the review. I also find that Acid Cigars are just not my forte’. I have found them reminiscent of Swisher Sweets.

Tom, great job with the short interviews. Keep up the great work.

Gotta say tom, I’m glad you were able to run back and give it a second chance. I have to agree with the others, flowers and perfume may be nice but not when smoking a cigar but then again, my first cigar ever was an Acid Blonde so… yeah. Awesome review, liked the new camera angle in the humidor, nice touch! keep up the great reviews

If you smoke one of these too fast, they can get bitter. Otherwise, my experience is completely opposite – I have thoroughly enjoyed the Kuba Kuba, all the way to my fingers! Lots of nuance, including chocolate, a fruitiness and mild pepper in the last inch. But I age everything for months before it goes under the flame. Maybe that makes a difference.
