Tour of St.Pete Cigars

st-pete-pipe-title

I’m sure most of you know about Ed and his cigar shop, St.Pete Cigars. Luckily for me, it is only one mile away from my house. If you live in the St. Petersburg, Florida area, you owe it to yourself to stop by. Ed is the original supporter of this site. On a sie note… Fortunately, a few others jumped on board to help me as well. Their links are on the right side of this website. Thanks to them, hosting and covering some costs associated with this place is taken care of for a little while.

Some of you who aren’t nearby or are out of state have emailed Ed and I asking for a quick video tour of his shop. Coincidentally, Ed had a similar idea for his website. He wanted to give potential customers an idea of what they would find.

This short video is basically a snapshot of Ed’s shop as of March 2010. Obviously inventory is a constantly changing and evolving thing. But you’ll get a basic idea of what his shop is about. Check it out…

Despite the small store, the selection is fantastic. Ed even has Canimao, a cigar I can’t seem to find anywhere.

Cool look at the shop! I thought it would be bigger (that’s what she said).

Tell Ed Thanks – just goes to show Big things can come in small packages. Ed’s shop is well organized and neat. Hope I get to visit next time I’m in St. Pete.

Indeed! When I walked into the shop for the first time, I was like “Meh this place is small.” After a few minutes I realized the selection was extensive and no joke. Almost every space a cigar can be placed is used.

Stay tuned. I know a shop that is opposite to Ed’s place. You’ll hear about it here.

St. Pete Cigars is a great shop whose cigar selection defies its size.

You didn’t show the rotating wall of cigars by pulling the 3rd empty box from the right!

Cool. The entire shop’s the humidor, right?

If so, are exterior doors sealed?

Noticed the Victor Sinclair section was mentioned. If you have the triple corojo, I’d be interested in a video review at some point in the future.

Cheers

Yes the whole shop is the humidor. There is only one door in and out, and yes it’s as sealed as you can get from a store door.
Overall conditions are good.

Looks like a great shop. Two thoughts though- ACIDs on the shelf right next to the Macanudo 1968′s? Sounds like a recipe for Macanudo Kuba Kubas. LOL (As long as he keeps ‘em away from the Tats we’re cool.)

Does Ed carry any Illusiones? That’s the only thing missing in the video that would bother me at all. (He could always dump some of those Gurkhas to make some room! LOL) Otherwise the place is really well stocked.

I thought a similar thought about the placement of the Macs. But who am I to question Ed ;-)

He doesn’t carry Illusiones. I’ve bragged about them but he didn’t bite. Maybe one day! He is a picky mofo
