Ed and I are back at Stogie Review to cover the Quesada Oktoberfest. This yearly release is said to go best with Oktoberfest beer. Since I am not a drinker, I have not tried that pairing.

This cigar is fairly simple and straight forward in terms of flavor. What makes it shine is hard to describe. The flavor delivery, the refined flavor profile, the strength and body are almost perfectly balanced. The experience puts this in my top 3 cigars of 2011. This is a great cigar, period.

The biggest downfall of this cigar is it’s limited availability. It is a yearly release of limited production. Once they are gone, we have to wait until next year.

So take 24 minutes and check out our review of the Quesada Oktoberfest. As always, press the little HD button on the video player for 720p hi-def.

It’s that time again. Ed and I visited Stogie Review for our guest spot. This time we tackled the new Gurkha Cellar Reserve.

This cigar boasts having tobacco that is aged for 15 years. While I’m not a big Gurkha smoker, past reviews we’ve done have turned out well. We did enjoy the Cellar Reserve, but it took us on a weird journey. It started off kind of ho-hum, picked up the pace in the middle, then tapered back in to the ho-hum routine in the last third. Personally, I can’t justify the $12 price tag. But I bet there are a lot of Gurkha fans that will disagree, and that’s Ok.

So sit back as Ed and I pick apart the Gurkha Cellar Reserve. We ran a little long with some off topic banter, but that’s how we roll. This video runs about 24 minutes. Do yourself a favor and click the little HD button on the video player. Blip.tv has had sub-par video conversions as of late.

I am often a sucker for small boutique cigar companies. They often are more focused on quality in smaller quantities. Such is the case of Falto cigars, which at times reminds me of Canimao, another small boutique company. These cigars require your attention due to their subtle flavor delivery.

The 28 minute video below get’s in to the history and mentality of Luis Falto and his cigar company. While this is a promotional video, I still found it interesting. The video is sub-titled, but I enjoyed it and thought a few of you may feel the same.

As always, you can click on the HD button on the player and view this in hi-def. Check it out.

Call it a one stop shop for Ed and Tom reviews. In an effort to get back to our regularly scheduled visits, we made our August spot in the nick of time…

Ed and I have reviewed a lot of cigars. It is often an over thought process on what we should review next. This time around we just took a walk around the shop and picked something.

Be warned that this video runs a little long at 28 minutes. This is the type of review that is best viewed while you relax with a cigar and smoke along with us. We ultimately pick apart every aspect of this cigar and leave no stone unturned.

This video is also available in high definition simply by pressing the HD button on the video player. Lately Blip.tv has been doing horrible standard definition video quality. I’d go ahead and hit the HD button right off the bat.
