I am often a sucker for small boutique cigar companies. They often are more focused on quality in smaller quantities. Such is the case of Falto cigars, which at times reminds me of Canimao, another small boutique company. These cigars require your attention due to their subtle flavor delivery.

The 28 minute video below get’s in to the history and mentality of Luis Falto and his cigar company. While this is a promotional video, I still found it interesting. The video is sub-titled, but I enjoyed it and thought a few of you may feel the same.

4th Annual Smoke a JJ for JJ Day

As I’ve said in previous years… This is a cigar site and I try to keep the personal stuff out. But there are always exceptions.

Friday, July 22nd 2011 is the 4th annual Smoke a JJ for JJ day. It’s easy… Spark up a Don Pepin Garcia Series JJ and enjoy the time you’ll spend relaxing. Don’t have any Series JJ’s? No problem. Dig out your favorite cigar and smoke up.

For those of you asking “Why?” July 22nd would have been JJ’s fourth birthday. JJ is the son of Stogie Review founding member Jerry. He died of SIDS at 3.5 months of age.

So every year we have a Series JJ to relax, reflect, and show respect to JJ, Jerry, and family.

I’m sure you all know Mike from StogieReview.com and Mike from MikesStogies.com. Both of them are starting up a podcast over at Stogie411.com. This project has been in the planning phase for quite some time, and it is finally ready to go live. The first show will be this Saturday, March 26th, at 1PM Est.

St. Pete Cigar Tour

As many of you know, I documented the progress of Ed’s new shop as he moved in. But it has been about a year since a full tour of his shop has been done.

Now that the new shop is totally complete, it is time to showcase the growing inventory and amazing lounge. So sit back for ten minutes and see what St. Pete Cigar has to offer.

Bonita Smoke Shop Giveaway WINNER!

As you all know, Bonita Smoke Shop hosted a great Christmas giveaway on the site this year. I can’t say enough good things about this shop. So just do yourself a favor and pay them a visit on the web, or in person if you are in the Bonita Springs, FL area.

Out of the 93 of you who entered the contest, I drew a random winner. My method was simple. I put tickets into a bowl, mixed them up, and blindly grabbed a ticket.

The site grew beyond my expectations in 2010. The purpose of this place has been, and still remains a place for me to have a reference of the cigars that I smoke. I am certainly no expert or aficionado. If anything, I am an average casual smoker. The only difference is, I have this website. So keep coming back and let’s have a good time in 2011.
